Event: “In the Footsteps of History” Seminars [Tarihin İzinde Seminerleri]

Host: Karfo Akademi

Moderator: Gökay YÖNDEM

Topic: Radiographic Imaging Techniques in Cultural Heritage

The Invitation & Guest Appearance: I had the privilege of being a featured guest speaker at the ‘In the Footsteps of History’ seminar series organized by Karfo Akademi, joining a prestigious panel of esteemed academics and professionals.

The Core Discourse: Under the expert moderation of Gökay Yöndem, I demonstrated how advanced radiographic imaging techniques are deployed in heritage science. Guided by my own field and laboratory case studies, we focused on the technical transition from conventional radiography to high-resolution digital imaging, and I shared exclusive details regarding our Turkiye-first experimental Micro-CT investigation on cultural property.

The Impact & Outcome: This seminar successfully bridged industrial imaging technology with archaeological curation. It provided young researchers and conservation professionals with a clear methodological roadmap on how non-destructive micro-tomography can unlock hidden manufacturing secrets without altering the artifact’s physical matrix.

Institutional Appreciation: I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Karfo Akademi administration and to Gökay Yöndem for their kind invitation and for orchestrating such a highly technical and necessary scientific dialogue.

Audience Recognition: My heartfelt thanks go out to all the participating academics, colleagues, and enthusiastic listeners whose insightful questions and deep interest made this seminar a truly vibrant platform for knowledge exchange.
